Green filming
Green filming

The audiovisual industry, in all its versions, from production to distribution, contributes to environmental degradation, including the emission of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. In response to these challenges, the Podkarpackie Film Commission has set itself the goal of finding effective solutions to curb the climate crisis. A key initiative is promoting the concept of sustainable production – green filming, the conscious production of audiovisual works in the most environmentally friendly manner possible.
The Commission is one of the initiators of Film for Climate. It`s a grassroots initiative of the market`s representatives, addressing the growing climate crisis, launched in 2020. It is comprised of film commissions` representatives, producers, freelancers, and industry organisations. The aim of the group is raising awareness in the subject of climate changes and the human influence on natural environment, exchange of knowledge and experience as well as supporting the producers, who want to realise their projects in a balanced way.
We also co-created the Green Guide for the Audiovisual Industry – a collaboration between the Rzeszów Regional Development Agency, the Polish Chamber of Audiovisual Producers, and the Regional Film Funds. The project's content partner was the "Film for Climate" group. The publication was created as part of the "Green Film Tourism" project and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg V-A Poland-Slovakia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020.
