Nature
Covering an area of more than 30,500 hectares, the Baligród Forest District offers a unique combination of rugged geological landscapes and vast, untamed forest complexes in the Western Bieszczady Mountains.
The area provides access to a wide variety of outdoor locations — from monumental rock faces of active and abandoned quarries and rocky scree slopes, to dense fir and spruce forests that serve as habitats for European bison, bears, and wolves.
The setting is further enriched by authentic historical traces, including former church sites, remnants of abandoned villages, and traditional charcoal-burning sites. Logistics are supported by a network of paved forest roads, as well as existing infrastructure such as shelters and tourist huts.
