Institute of Music of the University of Rzeszów and Dąbrowskiego Street, Rzeszów

Socialist Realist architecture. A complex of residential buildings together with the building of the Institute of Music (Faculty of Music of the University of Rzeszów), behind which there is a park.

Located at 83 Dąbrowskiego Street in Rzeszów, the building is the only structure in the Podkarpackie region entered into the heritage register as a textbook example of Socialist Realist architecture from 1953–1956.

Its symmetrical massing with a monumental colonnade, set back from the building line and surrounded by a square with a fountain, creates a coherent urban composition alongside the neighbouring housing estate dating from the Central Industrial District (COP) era and the post-war period.

Inside, the building features restored performance spaces, 19 teaching rooms, and unique Cubist polychrome decorations, combining the austere aesthetics of the 1950s with modern acoustic infrastructure and a rich collection of musical instruments.
