The first and largest ethnographic museum in Poland established after the Second World War in terms of the number of collected objects. It is located on Biała Góra, part of the Wójtostwo district on the right bank of the San River, at the foot of Biała Góra in the Sanok-Turka Mountains range. The ethnographic park covers an area of 38 hectares.

The grounds feature a reconstruction of a Galician town center (a synthesis of several towns from that era). It consists of 29 buildings (including 26 wooden ones) that served residential and various other functions. The Galician Market Square faithfully reflects the appearance and social relations of a typical small town in southeastern Poland.

The Galician Market Square is the urban sector of the Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok. While walking on the cobblestones, you can see an inn with a bowling alley, a post office, a municipal office, or a tobacconist (trafika), as well as workshops (such as a barber, carpenter, or photographer). Inside, there are about 3,500 exhibits—making it easy to experience the small-town culture of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Additionally, you will find:

  • Boyko sector
  • Lemko sector
  • Pogórzanie sector (Western and Eastern)
  • Dolinians (Valley Dwellers) sector
