The Nicolaus Copernicus High School in Jarosław is a prestigious secondary school with over a century of tradition, housed in one of the city’s most representative public buildings.

The brick, three-storey structure was built between 1874 and 1876 to a design by Tomasz Pryliński. It features eclectic architecture with a symmetrical eleven-axis front façade and a rusticated ground floor.

The interior includes a historic staircase crowned with a plafond by Edward Kieferling, as well as a unique assembly hall with an original movable wooden partition wall. The hall is decorated with eclectic murals bearing inscriptions that celebrate science and the arts.

At the same time, the building functions as a modern educational centre, housing the largest school library in the region.
