The ruins of the medieval (14th-century) Kmita stronghold impress visitors as they rise majestically above the villages of Monasterzec and Załuż.
Only fragments of the defensive walls of this medieval structure have survived to the present day. The castle was built on the plan of an irregular quadrilateral.
Within the ruins, there is a viewing terrace offering panoramic views of the San River valley and the Bieszczady Mountains. From the southern side, the remains of the residential section and the surrounding curtain walls are visible.
The site is located on the border between the Bukowskie Foothills and the Słonne Mountains.
