Sacred Architecture

A brick-built, defensive, tripartite Orthodox church situated on a hill above the river. It is considered the oldest surviving Orthodox church in Poland, constructed between the 14th and 15th centuries.

The structure features three towers, two of which are topped with hipped roofs. Its walls, built of rough fieldstone, include arrow slits reflecting the building’s defensive character. Inside, 16th-century polychrome decorations have been preserved.

It is one of the very few masonry Orthodox churches from this period remaining in Poland.
