Wooden Orthodox Church (now Church of St. Michael the Archangel), Smolnik

A 16th-century wooden Orthodox church situated on a hill and surrounded by old-growth trees. The church is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The church was built in the Boyko style (only 3 such structures remain in Poland). The temple features a tripartite structure (three square-based sections) topped with onion domes and crosses at the peak. The only original element inside (as the rest has been restored) is the polychrome. Next to the church is a small cemetery with a few preserved headstones.
