Wooden Orthodox Church of the Ascension of the Lord, Ulucz

The wooden Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Ulucz is one of the region's most valuable monuments of sacred architecture, picturesquely situated on the steep, wooded Dębnik hill.

The temple was built in 1659 (as definitively confirmed by modern dendrochronological research), although for many years it was considered the oldest tserkva in Poland. The facility stands out with its unique wooden defensive structure and preserved fragments of a double stone wall, which recall its former monastic function. Currently, the building serves as a field branch of the Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok, offering filmmakers a unique, raw, and isolated historical scenery.
