The film depicts a reality that has persisted from 1976 to the present day in the Beskid Niski, near the now-vanished village of Polany Surowiczne. This region bears witness to the dramatic events surrounding the displacement of the Lemkos. The current cattle grazing there has become the distinctive characteristic of this place. Nowhere else will we see cattle being driven by Hutsul horses and riders, and nowhere else is a singular man – shepherd Zbyszek Łagosz – designated to maintain order of it all.
