Rzeszów`s “Janusze”
A fictionalized documentary about the Galician city of Rzeszów, saved from oblivion thanks to the work of Edward Janusz – a photographer and urban documentalist from Rzeszów of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The film is based on a collection of his photographs from 1886 to 1914, commonly known as the "Janusze".
The film explores the city's history and the behind-the-scenes work of the pioneer of Rzeszów photography. It offers a multi-layered perspective on its unique artistic heritage. Archival photographs are brought to life through animation, some intertwined with contemporary footage. The film is complemented by comments from Edward's descendants and experts in history and art.
